Documentary Premiere!
Garland Jeffreys: The King of In Between continues to expand its reach. We will be distributed by Cargo Film + Releasing with a plan for theatrical release in the fall followed by streaming.
We have won 4 festival awards and continue on the festival circuit!
Full of never-before-seen archive, interviews with fellow musicians and friends, honest takes from the director (and Garland's wife Claire) and most of all, Garland's original music spanning fifty years, this film is a warm and personal portrait completely unlike your typical music doc.
Check out our sister site KingOfInBetween.com for information and updates.
The film has fiscal sponsorship which means that ANY contribution you make, of ANY size, will qualify as a tax deductible donation!

Thanks Rolling Stone!
"Sometimes the album sounds like a jam where Mick Jagger, Van Morrison, Joe Strummer and Lou Reed share a joint."
Thanks Rolling Stone Germany for this perfect description of 14 Steps To Harlem.

RIP Charlie Watts
This is a tough one. RIP Charlie Watts and sympathies to his family and bandmates. A legend, in the truest sense of the word.

Happy Father’s Day!
Here's appreciation to all the fathers out there, those gone and those still with us. The older I get the more I see the good in my parents. They loved life and loved to have fun and they passed that on to me, along with so many other things. Happy Father's Day!

Happy Birthday to the great Bob Dylan!
Happy Birthday to the great Bob Dylan! The man who paved the way for all of us, for every songwriter who tried to tell his own story, to right some wrongs, to tell some tall tales. The only bad thing about him turning 80 is that it must mean we're all getting older too—but then again, I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Video by Sandi Bachom #HappyBirthdayBob

Friends
When fans become friends—and happy that's happened with a lot of you. Great lunch yesterday with Carol, Kathy and Mark.

Long Live Love!
Exactly 40 years to the day that we met in the parking lot after I played The Fast Lane in Asbury Park. It's been an amazing ride together and it's been great sharing it with all of you. Some of you were probably at that show! Long live love!
New York Skyline
Doesn't get much better than hearing live music for the first time in over a year at City Winery NYC and James Maddock doing my song. The New York Skyline will always be calling me home.

This photo of us from Sally Davies' NEW YORKERS book deserves its own post!

Escape Artist
Forty—40!—years ago this month Escape Artist came out on Epic. What a thrill to make this record and looking back, the roster of musicians involved still blows my mind.

Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams - It Was The Music
Some of you know Larry Campbell co-produced my "The King of In Between" album. A great musician and lovely guy, he and his equally talented wife Teresa Williams have just released "It Was The Music"—a love story that looks back to the music that brought people together in the sixties and early seventies and a candid look into their lives as artists as they search for what they call “music utopia.”

Big ups to Ivan Julian and his new documentary!
BrooklynVegan says "Geoffray Barbier's new documentary is a nice hang with legendary New York guitarist Ivan Julian, best known for playing in Richard Hell & The Voidoids, but who has also played with The Clash, Matthew Sweet, The Bongos, Shriekback and more.”

Limited edition merch from the vault now available!

Brilliant cover version of “New York Skyline”
Check out the new James Maddock album—No Time To Cry. Recorded over the spring of 2020. Nine songs and one of them an absolutely stunning cover of my NEW YORK SKYLINE. The city, like much of the world, is struggling right now but I have to believe it will come back. Music helps immensely. Listen to this album and buy it too!

Record Store Radio Podcast
Check out this brand new podcast series, Record Store Radio Podcast, Parts I and II, an in-depth look at my career. Hosted by Tom Honan of Live Space Entertainment out of Syracuse, NY, who came over and conducted a lengthy interview, it covers a lot of ground and according to some fans, even uncovers a previously unknown facts!

My 77th birthday!
June 29 was my 77th birthday. I've seen a lot of things in my life. As I say in a song, "grateful I'm here and I'm still alive." Grateful for all of you too. Scout’s honor!

Props from Chuck D
I was truly blown away when Chuck D tweeted this about me and my influence on him—and blown away to learn that he was a visual artist as well!
“Spit ProtEst songs of PowEr for the 25 daze of this March 2020…If you don’t know my influences and where I’m coming from I will draw them RT and spread if you dare #9 This is Mr Garland Jeffreys”

Syracuse Lifetime Achievement Award
Recap of our trip to Syracuse, city of my alma mater, to receive the Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYS) Lifetime Achievement Award! The awards ceremony at Dinosaur BBQ and the performance at The Palace Theatre Syracuse with James Maddock and all the other award winners was really soulful. This musical community takes care of one another.
