Forty—40!—years ago this month Escape Artist came out on Epic. What a thrill to make this record and looking back, the roster of musicians involved still blows my mind: Andrew Bodnar, G.E. Smith, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Alan Freedman, Danny Federici, Roy Bittan, Lou Reed, Michael & Randy Brecker, Adrian Belew, Steve Goulding, Big Youth, Arty Funaro, Larry Fast, Robert Athas, Earl "Wire" Lindo, Jimmy Maelen, Diane Grasselli, Myriam Valle, Maria Vidal and mixed by Bob Clearmountain, exec produced by Dick Wingate and photos by Anton Corbijn and Michael Halsband. They don't make 'em like that any more. Bonus 45 too!
