Garland on ABC Radio Melbourne

Garland Jeffreys discusses his hit 'Wild In The Streets' on the latest episode of ABC Radio Melbourne’s The Friday Revue radio show with Brian Nankervis.

G gives an overview of the genesis of WITS: he recorded Wild In the Streets in 1973 with the great Dr John. The song was based on a true story that Garland read in the New York Times. After the single's rerelease in 1977, the song received airplay on the progressive FM album-oriented rock radio stations, and became one of his best-known songs.

Garland also reminisces about his university days with Lou Reed and the poet Delmore Schwartz and his experience of life in NYC during lockdown.
